Veganuary- Make a 30 Day Commitment to Plant-based Eating

Have you resolved to eat better this coming year? Plant-based eating improves your health, the health of the environment, and shows compassion for farmed animals. Veganuary is a month dedicated to trying a plant-based diet.

Here are some tips to help you get started.

We find some people have a really hard time giving up dairy products, but there are plant-based alternatives that are similar and will help get you past the cravings. Here are some of our favorites that are easily found in most box stores and grocery stores!

Cheese

  • Violife: Use their smoked provolone slices for a sandwich or top apple slices for a quick snack! Their shredded mozzarella makes great lasagna, too!

  • Miyoko's Creamery: These are all tasty, but some personal favorites are the pepper jack slices and pretty much any of the cheese wheels (pair with deli slices and grapes for a quick charcuterie!)

Ice cream

There are so many options with more being added all the time, but here are a few of our top picks.

  • So Delicious: Dipped Vanilla Bean bars, and Mint Chip and Chocolate are available as pints.

  • Coconut Bliss: Sea Salt Caramel bars in chocolate

For Coffee

  • Silk Vanilla Soy Milk, sweetened or unsweetened depending on your taste (we’ve even found these at gas stations and rest areas!)

  • NutPods

  • Oat Milk is a favorite for many (try Oatly or Planet Oat)

Meat Substitutes

Be adventurous! Try tofu, tempeh, lentils and other beans — just flavor them to your preference! You could also try these meaty alternatives to help you transition or as a replacement in your favorite recipes.

Here are a few super tasty recipes to get you started on your plant-based journey!
