Our Mission Statement: At Plant Powered Delaware, we are committed to creating a healthier, more sustainable, and just food system. Through outreach and advocacy, we aim to transform community health and environmental practices by promoting a plant-based diet. Our work is rooted in a commitment to end the suffering of animals on factory farms and mitigate the ecological impacts of animal agriculture. As a social impact organization, we strive to empower everyone to make informed, ethical food choices that benefit all members of our community.

Jane Pierantozzi, President
Jane has been a child and animal rights activist for 30 years. In 2000, she founded Faithful Friends Animal Society. Jane’s been vegan for a decade!

Kim is a marketing consultant with a passion to help small businesses and non-profits flourish. Kim’s been vegan for 17 years!

Cathy is a small business owner and has volunteered her time to work for animal advocacy for over 30 years. Cathy’s been vegan since her early 20s!

Diane is the founder of Life is Delicious, Inc. and Delaware’s annual VegFest in Newark Delaware. Diane’s been vegan for 10 years!

Dr. Donohue is a primary care internal medicine physician, who is board certified in lifestyle medicine. To prevent and reverse many of our most deadly diseases, he promotes a whole foods, plant-based diet for the clients he serves.
Dr. Donohue is cofounder and Chief Medical Officer of Progressive Health of Delaware, a primary care lifestyle medicine and internal medicine practice in Wilmington, Delaware, since 2004. He is passionate about the health of our environment, and has spoken nationally about how animal-based agriculture is damaging our planet. He shares a home with his vegan wife, children and vegan border collie, Luna.

Robert Grillo is an activist, author and speaker for all species. He is also the founder and director of Free from Harm, a non profit dedicated to helping end animal exploitation. He founded Slaughter Free Chicago in 2018 which has now grown into a network called Slaughter Free Cities.
As a communications professional for over 25 years, Grillo once worked on large food industry accounts where he acquired a behind-the-scenes perspective on food branding and marketing. His book, Farm to Fable: The Fictions of Our Animal-Consuming Culture, explores the powerful narratives driving our culture of mass animal consumption.
Other published works include contributions to Caged: Top Activists Share Their Wisdom on Effective Animal Advocacy and Circles of Compassion: Connecting Issues of Justice. In addition Grillo writes articles for Free from Harm and curates work from other leading authors.

Terry and Libby are nature enthusiasts in many ways. They became vegan in 2017, after learning about the health benefits of a vegan diet. They love to find natural ways to stay healthy in mind, body and spirit. Their spiritual relationship with God is what drives their decisions, relationships and actions in life. Terry & Libby both feel that a vegan lifestyle honors God by protecting his creation - animals, humans, and the environment! Terry is a pastor at Brandywine Valley Church in North Wilmington. He can be found eating vegan food with people from the community or hiking local trails on his lunch breaks. Libby is a photographer with Libby Portraits and is an essential oil expert. Terry & Libby have 4 children who also love vegan food!
